These were the words that were echoing in my mind when I took over as the president of APKS from Prof. Nicolaas Budhiparama at Asia Pacific Knee Society (APKS) 2022 in Bali. It is my proud honour to be associated with a group of such distinguished board members of APKS and I sincerely believe that together we can do great things for the orthopaedic community.
The combined APKS and IHKS 2022 meeting organized by Prof. Nicolaas Budhiparama in Bali was a great success. It also made me aware of the great responsibility that I have been handed as President of APKS from Prof. Nicolaas Budhiparama.
I have always believed in teamwork and as President of APKS, I seek to take full advantage of the great team at APKS. Our main activities will focus on Academics, Education, Research & Fellowship among members. We already had the first executive meeting where a decision regarding all the above was taken. We are also in the process of upgrading of the website of APKS. We have formed various subcommittees like the Strategic Planning Committee, Education Committee, Membership Committee, Fellowship Committee and Website Committee to initiate work in various directions. Most committees have started their work and website upgradation is initiated.
I am happy to invite all APKS members to the APKS Annual Meeting 2023 which will be held as a combined meeting with the Pune Knee Course on the 27th, 28th & 29th of April 2023 at Hotel JW Marriott, Pune, India. This will be a huge meeting with more than 1200 delegates and will have experts from the entire Asia Pacific participating.
We look forward to increasing the membership of APKS and also collaborating with all knee societies of Asia Pacific to enhance a cohesive bonding between Knee surgeons across the region.
I look forward to contribution and participation of everyone to make APKS an impactful society in the world.
